Baltimore looks so pretty in spring at nighttime
The cafe' doors all propped open wide
Low clouds hang around waiting for a chance to open up and fall
But it's nice to be outside
Chinatown bus rolls away from Travel Plaza
The shipping yards sit waiting for another day
Sleep comes easy with the hum of a distant motor down below
20 dollars and now I'm on my way
I'm always moving forward
There's something about New York that's got me going
Even though it always knocks me down
I get back up and try again you'd think I would have learned
I guess it's just one of those towns
The City peaks up out of the foggy skyline
Through the tunnel and there's no more sky to see
Hoodie zipped I'm ready for another chapter of my life
To begin, and that's fine with me
I'm always moving forward
Subway ride arrives at Grand Central Station
Waiting by the tracks with a one-way ticket out
Singing songs on the Harlem line, living for the moment
These are things I always forget about
Warm winds blowing in from the Atlantic Ocean
Rain drops falling down on the curving road
Grass is growing up tall out of the muddy earth patches
Walking across the bridge where the river overflowed
I'm always moving forward
Walking alone content with my surroundings
Trying to learn how to make each second count
Life goes by to quickly to think back on all the memories
That always gets me down
I'm always moving forward
